How can Betty's Bistro & Bakery help?

These are the most frequently asked questions we receive regarding our services for weddings

Do you cater weddings?

Yes.  We are really good and our prices are hard to beat, so our dates do book early.

Do you have tasting times?

YES!  Once you have secured your reception location, we can sit down for a tasting.  Call Cari for details 704-239-7594.  We do charge $20 for the tasting, and this amount is deducted from your deposit once you sign your contact with us.

Do you have to have an on-site kitchen at the reception site?

No.  However, if one is available we are very happy campers!

Do you make wedding cakes?

Yes.  Depending on the cake style we are able to provide you with a delicious, gorgeous cake at a reasonable price.  We only make wedding cakes for weddings that we are catering. 

Do you have tables, chairs and linens for rent?

We do have some rentals available at very reasonble prices. 

Do you help with the wedding planning process?

We will meet with you (or we can do it over the phone or via email, whichever is easier for you) to help create your menu and go over all the necessary catering details.  We will also will also spend some time together prior to your big day to go over final details.  

Do I have to pay 50% of the amount due when I sign the contract?

No.  We require a deposit of $200 with your signed contract.  Your balance will be due 5 days prior to your date.

Do you cater sit down dinners?

No.  Our dinners are served buffet style.

Do you work with Bridezillas?

Not a chance.  We like to work only with happy, well-adjusted brides and their families.  We will be happy to recommend some high priced caterers for any Bridezilla......

Do you provide liquor, wine or beer?

If works out best if you provide that.  We will be happy to provide a bartender to help serve.  Bartender service is $20 per hour.

Do you cut the cake for us?

Of course. There is no charge for that.  We provide disposables for the cake when we provide the cake.  If you would us to provide disposables for the cake, that can be arranged.

Can we keep all the leftover food?

You paid for it - it is yours.  We will pack up your leftovers for you to take home.  

Do you have photos of your cakes and setups?

Yes.  We will be happy to email those to you upon request.

Are servers included?

Depending on the number of guests will determine how many servers will be there.  They are there to replenish the buffet, help serve tea and coffee and keep the buffet area clean. Because weddings and special events require our servers to be there for a longer amount of time, we do charge $15 per hour per server.  You will be given an exact amount of server fees when you give us your final count.  The service fee is seperate and does include the gratuities for the servers.  The service fee for weddings and special events is 18% of food totals, or 20% if you are paying with credit card.

How long is the serving time?

Generally, the serving time for a dinner is two hours, if you add an hor douerve the time is increased to three hours. Any additional serving time will require an additional server fee.

Can I really have the chocolate fountain for free at my reception?

Yes!  Check out our chocolate fountain page.  You just need to order from one of our dinner or hor douerve menus and have at least 100 guests.  You also need to order a dipping package for the chocolate fountain! 

What type of meal can I serve?

You decide.  We have a wonderful dinner menu, but why not have something different?  Look at our picnic menus, our dessert buffets and our hor douerve selections.

Where have you served before?

There are many great locations in Charlotte and the surrounding areas that allow outside catering companies.  Check with your church, the Mecklenburg County Parks and recs, Chamber of Commerce in your area and some hotels.  PLEASE NOTE:  Before we will accept a wedding at a private residence, we must be able to view the property and the way you will have it set up before we can accept the catering.  Please call if you need more details.
